2+2=5? Why Not? Oregon Department Of Education Promotes Course That Claims Math Is Racist Because It Requires A Correct Answer

(Tea Party PAC) – America is in serious trouble if the woke left continues to have their way. Everything has become about race and identity and it’s completely undermining everything America stands for.

Has America had issues with racism in the past? Yes, we all know this but America is one of the most tolerant and accepting places in the entire world. Everyone who lives here is granted the same opportunities and chances at becoming successful, should they decide to work for it, of course.

Equality of opportunity, however, is not what the deranged left is after. They want something much different.

Unhinged leftists want equality of outcomes and that’s why they’re now claiming that mathematics is “racist.”

You read that right. Math is now a form of racism. Of course, you’re probably reasonably confused. How could math, which has clear and undeniable answers that are the same for everyone, possibly be racist?

Well, an Oregon Department of Education newsletter from February attempted to explain just that.

The newsletter was promoting an online course designed to “dismantle” instances of “white supremacy culture in the mathematics classroom.” Apparently, it’s racist and a form of “white supremacy” to teach students that math is objective.

The newsletter asserted that “the concept of mathematics being purely objective … is unequivocally false.”


The program promoted in the newsletter is known as “A Pathway to Equitable Math Instruction” and is described as “an integrated approach to mathematics that centers Black, Latinx, and Multilingual students” and provides “opportunities for ongoing self-reflection as they seek to develop an anti-racist math practice.”

It’s hard to believe this isn’t satire. This is really where we are in America right now.

The course guide actually contends that the way math is being taught, where students are required to find the correct answer, causes “educational harm” to “Black, Latinx, and multilingual students” and denies “them full access to the world of mathematics.”

So, the course takes the position that minority groups are, apparently, not smart enough to succeed in math courses and therefore it’s a racist institution that should be dumbed down to cater to the alleged disadvantages of the “slow-learning” minorities.

Do these people really not see just how racist they actually are by perpetuating this kind of nonsense?

For leftists, however, everything is about “equitable outcomes” rather than truth or reality.

“Building math instruction on an equitable foundation can better ensure all our students have a pathway to success in math,” the Oregon Department of Communications’ Director of Communications, Marc Siegel, said.

This “pathway to success in math” evidently includes doing away with “right answers” which are now a form of “white supremacy.”

Public Affairs Director for the National Association of Scholars, Glenn Ricketts, told Campus Reform, “Mathematics was once considered immune: after all, doesn’t 2 + 2 = 4? … But as I have read recently, the problem that math and arithmetic insist on correct answers is actually a hidden form of ‘white supremacy,’ as everything else is as well.”

The authors behind the program that seeks to “dismantle” this form of overt “white supremacy” argue that the idea of math being “purely objective” is false and that “Upholding the idea that there are always right and wrong answers perpetuate objectivity as well as fear of open conflict.”

What on earth are these people even talking about?

Leftists are living in a fantasy world where there is no objective truth at all. Their very mission in life is to do away with any kind of objective truth and replace it with nonsensical pseudo-psychology and faux moral superiority.

Math will always be objective and quantifiable no matter how badly leftists want to dumb it down and convolute it.

This lunacy has got to stop.
