Backlash: Michigan County Walks Back COVID Letter Threatening To Arrest Parents

(Tea Party PAC) – A Michigan County health department has decided to revise its COVID guidance letter addressed to parents which originally contained a threat to arrest them and take away their kids if the department deems them to be a threat to the public.

This is what America has transformed into over a virus with a 98-99 percent survival rating, ladies and gentlemen. We are watching our republic be destroyed over an illness. It’s insane. And very, very sad.

According to Infowars, Allegan County Health Department received a ton of backlash after they sent out the notices last week to parents of kids who have been exposed to the coronavirus, threatening quarantine measures under penalty of arrest.

“In light of the recent questions received and concerns expressed, the quarantine letters have been amended to place greater focus on the educational element and actions that are necessary to be followed, while still maintaining the required language that is mandated to be included,” the Allegan County Health Department went on to say Saturday.

The original letter said, “If you fail to take the actions prescribed in this warning notice, the Allegan County Health Department shall petition the circuit court to seek an order to compel your compliance, which may result in you being taken into protective custody to protect the public’s health.”

“The department said the letters were meant to teach what the symptoms of COVID-19 are, inform them that they need to quarantine, ensure basic needs of the person quarantining are being met, provide documentation for work or school, and are required to be sent by the state of Michigan public health code,” News Channel 3 went on to report.

Many parents thought the letter was threatening and intimidating.

“It feels very threatening to receive a letter like that…to get a letter like this, a warning notice from the health department that if you fail to comply to their order that your son or daughter could be taken away from you,” Jeff Koons, parent of a Wayland Union middle schooler said in response to the letter.

The revised version of the letter no longer contains the references to arresting parents and taking children away into protective custody, but still provides outlines for quarantine procedures.

“The Allegan County Health Department only revised the letter due to major pushback from the parents, illustrating their important role in defusing the newfound tyranny amassed by government officials to wield over children,” the report stated.

Here’s the revised letter:

Now here’s the original:

“The Allegan County Health Department has become aware that your son/daughter is a close contact to a COVID-19 positive individual and has determined that he/she is a ‘carrier’ as defined by Michigan Law,” the letter which was publicized by State Rep. Steve Johnson (R) went on to say.

“You are hereby notified that you are required to cooperate with the Allegan County Health Department in efforts to prevent or control the transmission of this serious disease or infection,” the original letter continues.

“If you fail to take the actions prescribed in this warning notice, the Allegan County Health Department shall petition the circuit court to seek an order to compel your compliance, which may result in you being taken into protective custody to protect the public’s health,” it adds.

This is insanity. Parents should never be threatened to have their kids taken away due to exposure to a virus like this. The government of Michigan has gone off the deep end ever since this pandemic started. Let’s hope people fight for their rights the legal way, the peaceful way, and take back their liberty.
