(Tea Party PAC) – Conservative watchdog group Judicial Watch is now suing the Capitol Police for emails that are related to the siege that took place on the Capitol building back in the beginning of January. The lawsuit comes as a response to Judicial Watch’s initial request for the information, as the Capitol Police stated that these were not public records and that they didn’t need to turn them over.
According to the good folks over at Gateway Pundit, Judicial Watch announced they were suing the department on Tuesday. The group filed the lawsuit under the common law right of access to public records after Capitol Police denied the request to provide the information which was made on January 21, 2021.
The requested information included email communications between the U.S. Capitol Police Executive Team and the Capitol Police Board over the security of the Capitol building on January 6. The timeframe for the request is noted as being between January 1, 2021 through January 10, 2021.
Judicial Watch also requested email communications of the Capitol Police Board to the FBI, the Justice Department, and the Department of Homeland Security with the same timeframe. They also requested access to all video footage within the Capitol that took place between 12 pm and 9 pm on the day of the riot.
Someone needs to get to the bottom of what happened that day and how might legitimately be responsible for the horrible events that transpired. It’s totally possible that some unstable right-wing individuals may have been involved in the situation that unfolded that day. It’s also totally possible, and very plausible, that Antifa and other left-wing thugs orchestrated the whole thing to make conservatives look bad.
Some negligence and incompetence is sprinkled on top just for extra flavor.
But we won’t know anything until the matter is looked at from all angles.
