Democrats Omit Exculpatory Information From Summary Of Tim Morrison Transcript

(Tea Party PAC) – On Saturday, the Democrats on the House Intelligence Committee released a long-awaited transcript of their closed-door deposition with National Security Council official Tim Morrison, and didn’t waste a minute spinning the facts for the sake of their stenographer sin the media.

In yet another case of Chairman Adam Schiff’s (D-CA) relentless obstruction of the truth, the congressmen and his cohorts clearly believe that the public won’t even bother to read the transcript themselves.

To begin with, the transcript was withheld from the public until October 31 and only released after the first public hearings began last week. It had been rumored that Morrison’s testimony actually worked in the president’s favor, rather than to bolster the Democrats’ vague accusations of wrongdoing.

Rep. Mark Meadows (R-NC) had characterized the Democrats in the room during the closed-door hearing as “sucking lemons” and that, if the transcript had been available, would have served useful to the Republicans.

Before its release, the Democrats had sole possession of the document, as Schiff has refused to allow any copies of the transcript to be released to Republicans, either paper or digital. Members of the GOP must review the transcripts one at a time, in the presence of a staffer to the committee.

This is just one of the insanely unconstitutional features of the impeachment inquiry rules that the House passed earlier this month.

“Not only is that rule humiliating, but it also allows Democrats to control the flow of information and to prepare their public arguments with no fear of timely Republican rebuttal,” Breitbart notes.

In the Morrison case, Democrats released “key excerpts” that highlighted the few facts in his testimony that, they believe, help push the case for impeachment. Chief among these is that Morrison confirmed that he heard U.S. Ambassador to the E.U. Gordon Sondland claim that he told a Ukrainian official, in a private “sidebar” meeting, that aid would be released if the Ukrainian prosecutor general would publicly announce an investigation into Burisma.

But that is just hearsay evidence, as is Morisson’s confirmation of Charge d’affairs William Taylor’s testimony (repeated in public last week) that Sondland, after speaking to President Trump, “there was no quid pro quo, but President Zelensky must announce the opening of the investigations and he should want to do it.”

Reliable fake news outlets like CNN and others were quick to highlight these and other supposedly damning portions of Morrison’s testimony.

According to Breitbart, these are the top news results on Google for the search “Tim Morrison” as of Sunday morning, following the release of the transcript:

• CNN: “Ex-NSC official corroborates Sondland said he was directed by Trump on Ukraine“

• NPR: “NSC Official Faults Sondland’s Role In ‘Shadow’ Ukraine Policy“

• USA Today: “Morrison said he was ‘not comfortable’ with Ukraine President Zelensky being involved in US politics: the latest“

• Daily Beast: “National Security Official Tim Morrison Feared Leaks of Trump’s Call to Ukraine President Would Be Damaging“

• Politico: “Sondland said he was acting on Trump’s orders, aide told investigators“

These reports, quick to highlight the portions of the transcript that support the left’s narrative, ignored the most noteworthy portions of Morrison’s testimony in Trump’s defense:

• Morrison testified “I was not concerned that anything illegal was discussed” on the July 25 phone call between President Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, to which he himself listened. That statement does not appear anywhere in the Democrats’ “key excerpts” document. He also testified that he “did not have a view” on whether President Trump’s comments to Zelensky on the phone call were “improper.”

• Morrison testified that he was afraid that the conversation would leak — not because he thought the president had done anything wrong, as Democrats’ “key excerpts” document implies, but because he knew about what would happen, given “Washington’s polarized environment.” The Democrats’ summary of the document omits this telling exchange between Morrison and chairman Adam Schiff — no doubt, because it damages their case:

THE CHAIRMAN: Okay. I just wanted to follow up a bit on this.

One of the concerns, and there may be an overlap between the first two concerns you mentioned about the caII, and if the call became public. First, you said you wene concerned how it would play out in Washington’s polarized environment and, second, how a leak would affect bipartisan suppont for our Ukrainian partners.

Were those concerns nelated to the fact that the President asked his Ukrainian countenpant to look into on investigate the Bidens?

MR. MORRISON: No, not specifically.

THE CHAIRMAN: So you didn’t think that the President of the United States asking his counterpart to conduct an investigation into a potential opponent in the 2020 election might influence bipartisan support in Congress?

MR. MORRISON: No.

THE CHAIRMAN: And you weren’t concerned that the President bringing up one of his political opponents in the Presidential election and asking a favor with respect to the DNC server or 2016 theory, you weren’t concerned that those things would cause people to believe that the President was asking his counterpart to conduct an investigation that might influence his reelection campaign?

MR. MORRISON: No.

THE CHAIRMAN: That never occurred to you?

MR. MORRISON: No.

THE CHAIRMAN: Did you recognize during the — as you listened to the call that if Ukraine were to conduct these investigations, that it would inure to the President’s political interests?

MR. MORRISON: No.

• Morrison contradicted Lt. Col. Alexander Vindman, the Democrats’ star witness in the closed-door hearings, who reported to Morrison directly. Morrison testified that while he admired his subordinate’s patriotism, he was irritated that Vindman failed to report concerns about the call directly to him. He said Vindman never raised concerns that something illegal had happened. He also said he accepted all of Vindman’s proposed edits to the call record, contrary to Vindman’s testimony. And while he did not think that Vindman was a leaker, he testified: “I had concerns that he did not exercise appropriate judgment as to whom he would say what.” He said that Vindman’s sloppy practices were partly the result of his own predecessor at the NSC, Dr. Fiona Hill — another one of the Democrats’ star witnesses, who, like Morrison, is due to testify publicly this week.

• Morrison testified that other foreign aid being offered by the U.S. at the time was reportedly under review — not just to Ukraine. And he confirmed earlier testimony that the aid being held up did not include the essential Javelin anti-tank missiles, which were being delivered to Ukraine through a separate procurement process.

• Morrison testified that he had no concerns that President Trump asked President Zelensky, during the July 25 phone call, to meet with his personal attorney, former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani.

• Morrison kept NSC lawyers informed about what was going on — not because he was concerned Trump had done anything wrong, but because he wanted “to protect the president” from whatever Sondland was doing.

All of these very important details are missing from the “key excerpts” of the Democrats, completely downplaying or downright omitting the most exculpatory portions of the testimony.

For example, the “key excerpts” document includes Morrison’s testimony that the transcript of the July 25 call was placed on a more secure server by “mistake” — but focuses on the fact that it was not removed from the more secure server after that.

Morrison also confirmed that the Ukrainians did not know that the aid was being held up until a Politico article appeared on August 28, and he said that Sondland’s side conversation with a Ukrainian official in September was “the first time something like this [investigations] had been injected as a condition on the release of the assistance.” Democrats include that latter quote, but downplay it.

Similarly, Democrats distorted the testimony of Jennifer Williams, an aide to Vice President Mike Pence, whose testimony was also released on Saturday. Democrats highlighted the fact that Williams testified that she was told by another aide that Trump told Pence to skip Zelensky’s inauguration in May — though she did not hear that first-hand.

They quote her as saying the July 25 call “for me shed some light on possible other motivations behind a secunity assistance hold.” But they leave out her saying she “didn’t have any firsthand knowledge as to the reasoning.”

  1. I as now no longer a Democrat because of the total embarrassment they have caused this country. For my thesis I have listened to both sides and all of the hearings and cannot believe how Shiff and his sidekicks can keep a straight face while breaking every law our for fathers have laid out to keep this country together and free. Today I saw a video from the investigation the other country is doing that proves Obama and His administration were getting money stolen from the people of that country and the Democratic people want to blame Trump. This is funnier than Mad Maxine blaming Trump for the condition of her district when she has been given money for 30 years to clean it up and only filled her and her families pockets. Before he even became president the lies started. Please don’t tell me other Democrats don’t see this. Botox Queen doesn’t even think the American people are smart enough to decide who we want to vote for when in reality she realizes that we the smart Democrats see through all they are doing. Just hope others don’t take what you hear from the news because they are only giving out hate.

  2. This IMPEACHMENT (SHAM/SCAM) inquiry is CORRUPTION on a MASSIVE scale, unlike ANYTHING in this nation’s history! Schiff, Pelosi and Nadler (and others INCLUDING those who have committed Perjury) should be led away in HANDCUFFS from charges of CRIMES against the POTUS, which is SEDITION and TREASON, against BOTH Trump and the American People. This needs to be taken care of ASAP. Prison sentences should follow afterward. I would AUTOMATICALLY vote NO for impeachment if I were a Congress person so as NOT to be a CO-CONSPIRATOR in this SHAM process. This is a WARNING! Team Trump and his allies 2020 – KAGA (Keep America Great Again).

    RE: Unearned Thanks

Mrs. Pelosi, please accept and relay my thanks to Mr. Schiff and all of those players in the Congress, the bureaucracy, the media, etc… who have participated in what I will simply refer to as a ‘Resistance Movement’. You and your comrades have validated without a reasonable doubt not only the 12 lessons learned that I introduced to the citizens of my community in 1989 after 26 years as a military officer and into my third year as their police chief, but the four I have added since President Trump’s election.

The lessons learned were to be the preface of a yet to be published book titled: Rape, Pillage, Plunder; America, You’ve Been Had! To date the book has not been published due to the large amount of still classified information therein. I will reveal that the book discusses the results of a Senate requested investigation as to the actual relationships between the governments of the United States, Panama, China, Russia, other nations, certain international banking organizations, and the international drug trade/money laundering. The investigation was requested to address concerns of senators regarding issues related to turning control of the Panama Canal over to the government of Panama. For your information; in addition to the names of several officials in the Carter Administration, one first term senator (J. Biden) and one state attorney general (W. Clinton) made it on to the list of individual subjects.

Please, asking for your tolerance for one final comment from an old retired cop. The events surrounding and/or occurring within the parameters the so-called Special Prosecutor (Mueller) Investigation of Russian/Trump collusion/obstruction of justice in/around the 2016 National elections were by no stretch of any DOJ and/or other federal government statutes/laws/regulations/SOP’s/etc… an investigation. It was crystal clear that all of the activities before, during, and after the Mueller affair were/are a collection of grossly screwed up attempts to maintain the power of the long established oligarchy and distract from learning the real facts surrounding the 2016 election and post election efforts to negate the 2016 presidential elections.

    A Soldier/Cop’s Lessons Learned

    1. Soldiers (ground combat soldiers, that is) do not fight first and foremost for their country, the flag, motherhood, nor apple pie. Before all else, soldiers engaged in ground combat fight for their fellow soldiers and their unit.

    2. The Seven C’s of Leadership according to a 1980 survey of 1646 of Vietnam era ground combat veterans listed of the order of their importance are; Candor, Competence, Consistency, Commitment, Courage, Compassion, and Courtesy. The reason the soldiers in the survey chose the word “candor” is because to them candor encompasses both omission and co-mission. To a combat soldier lack of absolute candor, be it co-mission or omission, are equal sins! In short, soldiers expect/demand absolute candor from their leaders before all else.

    3. The most cost effective personnel management tool for incompetent personnel assigned to leadership positions in combat units (and probably elsewhere) is “Fragging!”

    4. The American people are the most effectively lied to people in modern times thanks primarily to the American political class, the American bureaucracy, the American media, and American academia.

    5. Arrogance coupled with ignorance equals stupidity.

    6. The greatest threats to the American people are the corrupt and/or incompetent politicians/bureaucrats/academicians found at every level of government/academia, and the majority of the American so-called media.

    7. Most of the politicians/bureaucrats/academicians I have encountered during my years as a soldier/cop I most kindly refer to as; self-serving, witless, cowards.

    8. The American Profession of Arms and our brothers/sisters in blue have failed to protect the American people from all of their enemies, both foreign and most especially domestic.

    9. My guns were always turned in the wrong direction.

    10. Washington, DC is the most target rich environment I have encountered in all of my years as a soldier/cop.

    11. If recalled to active military service the only position I will accept is; Commander, Revolutionary Forces.

    12. There are only two primary requirements to be a career soldier and/or cop in America. One must be smart enough to do the work and dumb enough to take the job.

    13. American soldiers and police officers must in addition to mastering all of their professionally mandated tasks, learn to accomplish the same with at least one arm tied behind their backs and their vision impaired 50% or more. (Added 2019)

    14. After carefully watching the whole of the political class since Donald J. Trump walked down that escalator in Trump Tower to date, I can say without reservation that most of the group will sell their souls and our bodies just to remain in power. (Added 2019)

    15. Want to see what the United States of America will look like if the left takes control of the government? Take your pick, New York City, Baltimore, Chicago, San Francisco, Los Angeles, or the complete package; California. (Added 2019)
    16. If the so-called resistance movement continues unchecked a number of able veterans are going to be presented with a challenge/decision. Are the American people worth another drop of our sweat and/or our blood? (Added 2019)
