(Tea Party PAC) – In case you had any sort of doubts that Hollywood was a cesspool of liberalism, along comes a film about elite liberals who pay to hunt down and kill conservative Americans inside a safari-like theme park.
Yes, this is a legitimate film that was due to be put out by Universal Studios, a major Hollywood movie studio. This tells you everything you need to know about how leftists feel about those who disagree with them politically. They, apparently, want to murder us all.
However, those who were looking forward to the film are about to be super disappointed because the studio has decided to cancel the movie due to it being insensitive toward the recent wave of politically motivated violence in our country.
Via Big League Politics:
‘The Hunt’ features a plotline involving elite progressives kidnapping rural Americans and enacting their vengeful, violent fantasies through a hunt-style theme park. The movie starred Betty Gelpin as a kidnapped ‘deplorable’ who seeks to rally other victims of the liberals to escape their predicament.
Universal Pictures, the movie’s publisher, was said to be reconsidering the film’s promotional strategy after the politically charged violence seen at El Paso and Dayton. The company revealed they had decided to cancel the film’s release entirely in a statement to Fox News on Saturday.
“While Universal Pictures had already paused the marketing campaign for The Hunt, after thoughtful consideration, the studio has decided to cancel our plans to release the film.
We stand by our filmmakers and will continue to distribute films in partnership with bold and visionary creators, like those associated with this satirical social thriller, but we understand that now is not the right time to release this film.”
It is worth noting that the film’s premise didn’t necessarily imply that it sought to demonize or encourage violence against conservatives. A look at the movie’s trailer reveals the elite liberals are clearly the villains of the film’s plot, a development that was said to leave coastal progressives within the film industry less than thrilled.
The movie was originally due to be released on September 27th, but that’s no longer happening. It’s unclear as of now whether or not the movie, which had a small budget of $18 million, will be put on video and streaming services or if it will just be scrapped entirely.
Whether or not the message of the film was that conservatives are bad and deserve death or that we need to fight back and kill left-wing oppressors, both are wrong and messages of violence our country most definitely does not need to hear right now.
We’re divided enough as it is, and while it’s fun to make ridiculous satire pieces poking fun at our current ridiculous political state, doing so like this, during such a tumultuous time where mass shootings are happening on the regular just seems like a bad idea.
Let’s hope folks in charge of this project just scrap the whole thing and move on to something else.
