(Tea Party PAC) – If there ever was a reason to consider term limits in Congress, it’s Nancy Pelosi.
Yet, there she is in Washington, a career politician who is the most powerful Democrat in the land at 80 years old.
In an interview with NPR on Friday, Pelosi (D-CA) said that Congres should change laws just so a sitting president can be indicted.
The Democrats are desperate to try to paint Trump as a criminal for as long as they possibly can before 2020.
“I do think that we will have to pass some laws that will have clarity for future presidents. [A] president should be indicted, if he’s committed a wrongdoing — any president. There is nothing anyplace that says the president should not be indicted,” she said.
“That’s something cooked up by the president’s lawyers. That’s what that is. But so that people will feel ‘OK, well, if he — if he does something wrong, [he] should be able to be indicted.’”
Pelosi has been consistently inconsistent, however, on whether or not her Congress will pursue impeachment proceedings against the president for the crimes they can’t prove.
She continued on to attack the President and accuse him of being “abusive” to the Constitution. Clearly, she wasn’t paying much attention to Trump’s predecessor.
“The Founders could never suspect that a president would be so abusive of the Constitution of the United States, that the separation of powers would be irrelevant to him and that he would continue, any president would continue, to withhold facts from the Congress, which are part of the constitutional right of inquiry,” she said.
She also said that the legislative branch should be given more power, and should be able to put limits on when a president can invoke a national emergency.
“The president should not be able to interpret the National Security Act as something that gives him free rein to do anything he wants by his personal declaration that something is an emergency,” she said.
Pelosi is the 2nd in line for the presidency were something to happy to both Trump and Vice President Mike Pence.
Earlier Friday, she threatened Trump in a statement in the midst of the Deep State “whistleblower” stunt.
“If the President has done what has been alleged,” she said, “then he is stepping into a dangerous minefield with serious repercussions for his Administration and our democracy.”
Pelosi has often shied away from talk of impeachment. This is shrewd, considering it would be virtual political suicide for her to lead her party down that path.
Although to be fair, her party is doing a pretty good job committing political suicide on their own.
While House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jerry Nadler (D-NY) and others on his committee have been trying to launch impeachment proceedings on their own, its rumored that Pelosi is pushing back behind closed doors.
Pelosi, just like every Democrat in power too long is drunk on power and wants to remove a duly elected president by any means necessary, even if that means changing the law so a sitting president can be indicted.
