President Trump Makes Announcement About Troops In Syria

(Tea Party PAC) – President Trump has announced that he will be withdrawing American troops from Syria, which will allow Turkish forces to enter the country. As you might imagine, this particular strategy has folks very divided over whether or not to support this particular move by the president.

Sen. Lindsey Graham is not at all a fan of the move and believes it to be a mistake as the Kurdish forces in the area have been much needed allies in our fight against ISIS.

Here are more details via Breitbart:

The White House revealed Trump’s decision Sunday night and the president also shared his thoughts on the issue on Twitter on Monday.

“I held off this fight for almost 3 years, but it is time for us to get out of these ridiculous Endless Wars, many of them tribal, and bring our soldiers home,” Trump wrote on Twitter.

Trump said he would allow Turkey to engage in Syria, despite the American alliance with the Kurds in the region. In return, he said, Turkey would take all of the captured Islamic State terrorists.

The White House announced the deal after Trump spoke with President Recep Tayyip Erdogan of Turkey.

“Turkey will now be responsible for all ISIS fighters in the area captured over the past two years in the wake of the defeat of the territorial “Caliphate” by the United States,” the White House said in a statement.

Trump has tried to withdraw troops from Syria since destroying the Islamic State but has faced stiff resistance.

Jim Mattis, Trump’s first Defense Secretary, resigned in December in protest of the president’s decision to withdraw troops from Syria.

Trump’s decision earned criticism from some members in the foreign policy establishment, as they believe the Kurds deserve protection from Turkey, as a result of their efforts to fight the Islamic State.

Here’s how Trump responded to his critics:

Both sides on this issue makes some rather compelling arguments for why their particular point of view is correct, so it’s understandable that this action divided folks.

At the end of the day, we can’t afford to fight wars all the time, forever, without ever coming out as a clear victor. We’ll never defeat radical Islamic terrorism if we don’t start making war on their ideology as well as their actual terrorist cells. This is something the super liberals in our modern day America just simply don’t want to admit, particularly since they are oh so busy doing their best to pander to this particular group of individuals.

Again, unless the ideology is addressed, constant wars will accomplish nothing. Cut off one head and two more will take its place.

Let’s hope that aspect of this mess is finally addressed.
