(Tea Party PAC) – Sen. Mike Lee was none too happy with the Trump administration after the Iran briefing to U.S. senators, basically havin a leftist style meltdown over the whole thing, stating that he would more than likely side with Democrats, throwing support behind a resolution that would limit President’s power as commander-in-chief.
This, as you might imagine, did not at all sit well with folks in Congress who support Trump’s take on Iran, people like Sen. James Lankford, who took an opportunity on Fox News to destroy Lee for his meltdown.
Here’s more from Gateway Pundit:
On Wednesday Senator Mike Lee lashed out at the Trump administration following an Iran briefing to US senators.
Lee says he will likely side with Democrats and support a War Powers resolution to limit President Trump’s power as Commander in Chief.
Lee also is famous for putting foreign workers before US workers.
Mike Lee needs to go.
Mike Lee is a conservative snowflake. TRIGGERED! https://t.co/iCajXPMf5G

Later today Senator James Lankford destroyed Mike Lee for misrepresenting today’s private meeting to US senators.
Melissa Francis: Some of your colleagues have come out of your meeting today though and said almost the exact opposite. They didn’t get nearly enough information to justify what has happened. And, that they weren’t satisfied with the position at all. What do you think they heard?
Senator James Lankford: Yeah, it has been very interesting. I’ve seen some of my colleagues come out and make comments like that. In fact, one of my colleagues stepped out and said the whole group was doing a briefing with us and when the questions got hard that they left and they ran off. That was absolutely, positively false. That did not occur. They weren’t running away. We started at 2:30 and we finished at 4:00 because they had meetings in the White House.
It was all a lie.
Lee was not honest.
At the end of the day, the president decided to not strike back at Iran, which was the right call to make. However, he’s made it clear that more provocation will be met with the heavy hand of might from the U.S. military, and will make Iran regret the day of it’s creation should they continue in this kind of unruly behavior.
Sen. Mike Lee seems to mean well. He doesn’t want more power handed to the executive branch, which is a good thing. After all, what’s the point of living in a republic with a separation of powers if you consolidate power in one branch? Sort of defeats the purpose, right?
So before being too harsh on Lee, keep in mind what he’s really trying to say. However, if Iran continues to be a thorn in the side, we’ll need to take military action, and unfortunately, the left in Congress will oppose any measure by the Trump administration, even if its justified, simply because they hate him so much.
This means Trump will be stuck between a rock and a hard place in dealing with our enemies, making us look fractured and weak. We cannot afford that right now. It’s bad for our national security.
Here’s to hoping this situation is resolved without further violence.
