(Tea Party PAC) – With Joe Biden set to be inaugurated next week pending little short of a miracle, online censorship has ramped up as conservatives and Trump supporters are the obvious target.
As it happens, Biden’s administration also just so happens to be packed with former executives from the five major tech firms that are creeping into dominance in the digital world.
All five firms—Apple, Google, Amazon, Twitter, and Facebook—have been behind clearly biased censorship of conservatives over the last week in the wake of the Capitol Hill protests and breach of the halls of Congress.
Now, former big wigs from all of them are also going to be joining the incoming administration.
WND reports that at least 14 people who President-elect Biden has slated to serve either as administration officials or within the transition team have also held notable positions at these Big Tech firms.
“Apple’s top lobbyist was a chief adviser to the Biden transition team. A former Facebook executive will serve as staff director in the Biden White House, and a former Twitter executive will serve as chief spokesperson for the National Security Council under Biden,” they explain.
Meanwhile, “Current and former executives at those firms and two others, Google and Amazon, fill out other positions in the incoming Biden administration, or his transition team.”
President Trump himself, a number of his most adamant supporters, and the free speech social media network Parler were all targeted this past week by these five firms following the events of January 6th.
Trump was permanently banned by Twitter over what the tech giant deemed incitement of violence following the breach of the Capitol Building and chaos that ensued amid protests against the certification of the Electoral College vote confirming Joe Biden as the President-elect.
Five people died at the scene or as a result of the rioting or medical emergencies they experienced, including U.S. Capitol Police officer Brian Sick and Air Force veteran Ashli Babbit, a Trump supporter from San Diego, who was shot by police as she tried to enter a restricted area of the building.
Meanwhile, free speech network Parler, formed for the sole purpose of providing a space for conservatives tired of the bias of Big Tech, was booted off its web server and also blamed for the violence.
First, Apple and Google removed Parler from their app stores, preventing users from accessing the platform from their iPhones or Samsung Galaxy phones.
Even if they were happy to stick to desktop, however, Amazon then booted the budding social media network, which raged in popularity following the initial apparent election victory of Joe Biden in November, from its web hosting.
Sickeningly, Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey seemed to celebrate the seeming defeat of his platform’s top competitor in a tweet Saturday night by posting a photo showing that Parler was no longer Google Play’s top app.
Although many Republicans have emphatically condemned the illegal actions of those who entered the Capitol Building last week, the concern that social media networks so disproportionately apply their “community standards” has also been loudly voiced.
And the same people who used to work for these unethical companies are going to be working with Biden on what sort of administration he is going to have.
This should definitely scare you.
Last month, Reuters reported that major firms like Amazon, Facebook, and Google directly lobbied the transition team to place their own executives in various administrative roles.
They particularly had their eyes on Commerce, State and Defense Departments, as well as the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative and the Office of Information & Regulatory Affairs.
I don’t think it can be stated enough, so I repeat: this should scare you.
