(Tea Party PAC) – Is it safe to say that the coronavirus totally sucks and is ruining this entire year for pretty much everyone? Well, it’s not just the virus itself, though that was bad enough on its own. No, what’s adding to the misery is that the information we have on it keeps changing and none of us really know what in the world to do to contain it.
State and local governors have embraced the dark side of big government, demanding that folks follow ridiculously strict guidelines that have severely damaged the economy, destroyed millions of jobs, and put undue stress on practically every single citizen of the nation.
Movies theaters have been shut down for months now. There have been no big events or concerts to go to. And now, if you live in the city of Jacksonville and were planning to attend the Republican Party convention, you should probably find something to throw because its been cancelled by Trump because of COVID-19.
Is this nightmare over yet?
Check out the details from Just The News:
President Trump on Thursday cancelled the presidential nominating convention in Jacksonville, Florida, next month, as a result of a spike in coronavirus cases in the state.
He said the first part of the convention, in North Carolina, will go on as planned.
“I looked at my team, and I said, ‘The timing of this event is just not right. It’s just not right with what’s happened recently, the flareup in Florida,” Trump said at the White House. “To have a big convention, it’s not the right time.”
Trump said the Republican delegates would gather in Charlotte, N.C. to conduct the nomination and that he would likely have a virtual acceptance speech.
“It’s really something that for me, I have to protect the American people,” Trump said. “That’s what I’ve always done. That’s what I will do. That’s what I’m about.”
President Trump went on to reveal that when the site in the city of Jacksonville was chosen as a location for the event, the coronavirus wasn’t in the middle of a big spike in Florida like it is right now.
“We didn’t want to take any chances,” Trump said. “It could be nothing like our last convention unfortunately. That was a great convention, and a great place as you know, we had a great time, great time in Cleveland. But it’s a different world, and it will be for a little while.”
What every American is asking right now is how long this madness is going to continue? We can’t really know the answer to that without all the facts, and it seems like we don’t really know very much about how this virus works yet. There’s always new studies that come out contradicting the ones that just came out before it. It’s rather difficult to know how seriously to treat a threat like this without proper information.
Many think this is no worse than the flu. Lots of information says it’s far worse, but only for certain segments of the population. If that is true, why are we making everyone suffer? Is this how we are going to treat flu season too? Flu is deadly for a lot of folks too.
In reality, we’re all a little scared that these measures are never going to go away and the world is forever altered. Then again, maybe all of this is just being politicized and the hysteria will suddenly disappear after the election in November.
Guess we’ll find out soon enough.
