(Tea Party PAC) – Thursday, November 19th, marked the 157th anniversary of President Abraham Lincoln’s famous Gettysburg Address which he delivered at the dedication of the Soldier’s National Cemetery in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania.
The battle at Gettysburg was one of, if not the, bloodiest and most deadly battles of the Civil War that claimed the lives of 3,100 Union Army soldiers and 3,900 Confederate troops. This was just a part of what it cost America to end slavery.
In 1863, when Lincoln delivered his speech, America was in the midst of a very turbulent time in American history. Though slavery was officially aboilshed, black people were still treated like second-class citizens in much of the country and tensions continued to run high between the north and the south.
This was truly a nation divided and unification was not going to miraculously happen overnight.
Though we have not all just survived a civil war, these are equally tumultuous times and we are on the verge of losing the very freedoms those who came before us fought for and gave their lives for.
We are, again, very divided. Americans are being pitted against fellow Americans in ways this country hasn’t seen since the Civil War. Democrats are seeking to usurp all power and authority and they will stop at nothing to get it.
The scary part is, this is a massive effort orchestrated by the Democrats but made possible by American industries like the mainstream media, Big Tech, Corporate America, and Big Money. Us everyday Americans don’t seem to stand a chance against this army of power-hungry tyrants.
Now, we wait as the rigged election gets sorted out and it seems like all we can do is remain hopeful that the truth will prevail but the truth is we can’t just sit by and wait, we have to fight and resist.
In the Gettysburg Address, Lincoln stated that the Civil War was a test to this nation to see if it could endure.
Endure America did, and little did Lincoln know at that time but his speech would go down in history as one of the most consequential and meaningful speeches in American history.
Now we are faced with a similar scenario. Our freedoms are on the line, America itself is on the line and we have a chance to change the course of history for future generations.
We have the chance to make it into the history books as the generation of patriots who saved this great nation from the dangerous grasp of socialism and the inevitable implosion of democracy that would follow.
What we do here and today doesn’t just affect us, it affects the entire world. America has always been the beacon of freedom and personal liberty for the rest of the world. What happens to the rest of the world if America fails to defeat the power-hungry, tyrannical Democrats?
Lincoln said in the Gettysburg Address, “It is for us the living, rather, to be dedicated here to the unfinished work which they who fought here have thus far so nobly advanced. It is rather for us to be here dedicated to the great task remaining before us.”
Are you dedicated to the cause of fighting for the freedom which others before us have died to defend? Do you see the great task remaining before us? How much more will that task be important if Joe Biden gets away with stealing the election?
In his conclusion, Lincoln said that it was up to those living after the Civil War to ensure that this country “shall have a new birth of freedom, and that the government of the people, by the people, for the people, shall not perish from the earth.”
That is our calling today, patriots. It is up to us and only us to ensure that America and all that she stands for is not destroyed and wiped off the face of the earth by those who seek to destroy her.
America is still the greatest country in the world but it will only stay that way if those of us who recognize the truth stand up and fight for it.
In reflecting on the Gettysburg Address and the sacrifices made by hundreds of thousands of Americans over the course of her existence, now is the time to make a resolve to do whatever it takes to fight for freedom.
If we don’t, no American will ever have the chance to again.
