(Tea Party PAC) – The press was in a tizzy yesterday after President Donald Trump was pulled away from a coronavirus press briefing just after it had begun due to a shooting incident that took place outside the White House.
When Trump had begun addressing the press pool, a member of the Secret Service suddenly beckoned to him from the side of the briefing room, the Daily Caller reports.
“Excuse me,” Trump said, abruptly walking away from the podium without explanation.
‘Sir, could you please come with me?’” the agent reportedly said.
He was ushered out of the room with the relevant entourage, looking as calm as ever, as he usually does.
The members of the press, however, were no doubt beside themselves as they caught wind of what was going on outside.
What was going on outside was that a man in his 50s “aggressively” approached a uniformed member of the Secret Service, reportedly claiming to have a weapon and appearing as though he may intend to use it.
The man was subsequently shot.
While the Secret Service says that POTUS was never under any threat, the move to secure him within the White House was no doubt just typical protocol.
Trump returned to the podium after about 10 minutes, looking completely unaffected by the incident.
He later explained he’d been taken to the Oval Office.
After 10 minutes, President Trump returned to the podium, looking unruffled by the commotion.
“Sorry for that,” Trump explained. “There was a shooting outside of the White House. It seems to be very well under control. I’d like to thank the Secret Service for always doing their quick and very effective work.”
The Commander-in-Chief is always quick to praise the hardworking men and women who keep hi, as well as our country, safe.
“There was an actual shooting. Someone has been taken to the hospital. I don’t know the condition of the person. It seems the person was shot by Secret Service,” he explained.
“You were surprised. I was surprised also,” he told reporters. “[The Secret Service are] very, very professional people. They do a fantastic job. I feel very safe with the Secret Service. They are the best of the best.”
“Are you rattled by this at all, Mr. President?” one reporter asked.
Trump without a trace of discernable change to his constitution, replied calmly, “Do I seem rattled? It’s unfortunate. But the world has always been a dangerous place.”
