(Tea Party PAC) – CNN host Don Lemon took an opportunity to appear on “The View,” where he then spewed forth a heinous conspiracy theory that Jesus of Nazareth was a “black or brown” person. Lemon then said that Jesus “looked more like a Muslim,” and then totally went off about the nonexistent Christian holy figure who is often seen as a “white hippie from Sweden.”
According to Infowars, Lemon bragged that white women always ask him how to end racism after the death of George Floyd at the hands of Minneapolis Police, saying, , “We have to start being realistic about God and the Bible. If you are a person of faith in this country, and we know America is built on faith and religious freedom, a good way of starting is to present the true identity of Jesus. That is a black or brown person, rather than someone who looks like a white hippie from Sweden or Norway.”
“We should start with that and put that in your home, either a black Jesus or brown Jesus,” Lemon added. “Jesus looked more like a Muslim or someone who is dark, rather than a blonde-looking carpenter.”
During this same interview, Lemon took a dive into theology, going on to say, “the Catholic Church and many other churches really need to re-examine themselves and their teachings because that is not what God is about” and “God is not about hindering people or even judging people.”
There have always been crazy theories about the humanity of Christ and his being black, but it seems that particular way of thinking has once again gone mainstream thanks to Black Lives Matter. The thing is, Jesus isn’t black. He isn’t white. He would’ve been Middle Eastern. That much we know is true.
We have to be careful not to try and create our own version of Jesus that is nothing like the original. We’re supposed to search the Scriptures and come to know the true God as he revealed himself to us all in its pages. This is a form of idolatry, which is forbidden by the first and second commandments. This is a concept Lemon does not seem to understand.
Perhaps he ought to go back to school and actually learn how to do real journalism this go around, especially focusing on ethics.
