Watch: Sarah Sanders Announces Departure From White House

(Tea Party PAC) – We’ll miss you Sarah!

President Donald Trump announced on Thursday that his White House Press Secretary, Sarah Sanders, will be departing at the end of June and plans to return home to Arkansas.

The President first announced that Sanders would be leaving the White House on Twitter, then called her up to the podium during an East Room event to thank her for her service.

“She’s done an incredible job and we’ve been through a lot together and she’s tough, she’s good,” he said as the room applauded.

“She’s a special person, a very, very fine woman. She has been so great,” he continued. “She has such heart. She’s strong but with great, great heart.”

The president also said that he’d hoped she’d run for governor of her home state.

“If we can get her to run for governor of Arkansas, I think she’ll do very well,” he said, to laughter from the audience. “And I’m trying to get her to do that.”

Sanders also spoke, joking that she’d try not to get too emotional as it was clear she was trying to hold back tears.

“This has been the honor of a lifetime, the opportunity of a lifetime. I couldn’t be prouder to have had the opportunity to serve my country and particularly to work for this president,” she said.

She said that the only experience in her life that topped serving in the White House, which she said was “one of the greatest jobs she could ever have,” was “being a mom,” saying that she was leaving to spend more time as just that.

“In the meantime, I’m going to continue to be one of the most outspoken and loyal supporters of the President and his agenda. And I know he’s going to have an incredible six more years,” she said.

The president hugged Sanders, adding, “She is a warrior. Thank you, Sarah, very much.”

On Twitter this afternoon, the President wrote on Twitter:

“After 3 1/2 years, our wonderful Sarah Huckabee Sanders will be leaving the White House at the end of the month and going home to the Great State of Arkansas.”

Sanders was a member of the 2016 Trump campaign, and entered the White House as a Deputy Press Secretary before taking the job as Press Secretary in July 2017 after Sean Spicer’s resignation.

Trump also praised Sanders’ skills at the job.

“She is a very special person with extraordinary talents, who has done an incredible job!”

“I hope she decides to run for Governor of Arkansas – she would be fantastic,” he added. “Sarah, thank you for a job well done!”

Sanders is the first working mom to take up the post of Press Secretary, and it is nothing short of heroic that she’s putting all that aside to spend more time with her children.

Being a mom comes first!

We sure hope to see a lot more of her, though, when it works for her family. She’s proven herself to be one of the toughest and smartest women in the public eye and has gotten nothing but bashing and insults and straight-up harassment from the left.
