(Tea Party PAC) – President Trump’s administration is taking aim at welfare-dependent immigration to the United States by putting a ban into effect meant to prevent it from happening and putting a massive strain on the U.S. economy.
As you can probably imagine, this particular policy, among many others held by Trump and conservatives across America, is not sitting well with Democrats who want to pander to the illegal alien demographic in hopes of snaring them into a lifetime of servitude as a voter for the party, loyal to the end thanks to the addiction to free stuff.
This is one of the reasons why Trump’s “America first” agenda rubs the left the wrong way. It destroys their ability to use minorities and illegal aliens to preserve their power, making them vulnerable and preventing them from instituting their progressive nightmare vision of our country.
Here’s more on this from Breitbart:
After the U.S. Supreme Court gave the green light for the regulation, the Trump administration has now begun applying what is known as the “Public Charge” rule — a rule whereby legal immigrants are less likely to secure a permanent residency in the U.S. if they have used any forms of welfare in the past, including any cash benefits for income maintenance, Supplemental Security Income (SSI), Temporary Assistance to Needy Families, Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP)– otherwise known as food stamps, Medicaid, and certain taxpayer-funded housing programs.
The rule will now apply nationwide and, as Breitbart News previously noted, will favor younger, self-sufficient, healthier, and English-speaking legal immigrants over those who have used at least one form of public welfare for more than 12 months within any 36-month period.
When last asked of their support for the rule, 56 percent of Hispanic Americans said they supported favoring self-sufficient legal immigrants for green cards over welfare-dependent legal immigrants, as well as about 6-in-10 of all American voters and 62 percent of all swing voters.
Now why in the world would Hispanic Americans be in favor of something that prevents certain individuals from being able to come over to this country? Well, that’s actually pretty easy to explain. Many of these folks or their relatives, came to this country through the front door rather than breaking the law to sneak in through the back.
This means they put in the time, effort, and work to become a citizen of what they believe is the greatest nation on earth, a country worth all of the blood, sweat, and tears they poured out to get here. They earned the right to be here. Those who want to come here and mooch off the system are not respecting the effort that they put into being apart of America.
Hispanic Americans believe that all people who want to come here should be self-sufficient, and that’s absolutely true. It’s not that we as Americans don’t want to help the poor of the world. It’s that our resources are limited, thus, when so many folks come here and get hooked on the system it strains our economy by increasing taxes. We simply cannot help everyone.
Acting Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Deputy Secretary Ken Cuccinelli said in a statement that the Public Charge rule is merely a continuation of “longstanding law” dating back to the 1800s. Most recently in 1996, a rule demanding legal immigrants be self-sufficient was codified into federal statute but has hardly ever been enforced. Cuccinelli said:
This rule enforces longstanding law requiring aliens to be self-sufficient, reaffirming the American ideals of hard work, perseverance, and determination. It also offers clarity and expectations to aliens considering a life in the United States and will help protect our public benefits programs.
The rule in question is a boon for taxpayers in the form of a yearly $57.4 billion tax cut, which is the amount of money that hard working Americans who contribute to the system pay out every single year for welfare, crime, and schooling costs of the mass importation of the 1.2 million new, primarily low-skilled legal immigrants.
Self-suficiency is critical to assimilation into American culture, therefore, if people want to be here, they have to be willing to put in the time, work, and effort to take care of themselves and their families. Part of living in a free country is self-governance, and that requires self-suficency.
