(Tea Party PAC) – With what seems like a bit of mass hysteria sweeping the country thanks to the potentially lethal Wuhan coronavirus spreading across the globe, the rumor mill has been going full blast, prompting elected officials at all levels of government to run interference and ensure folks are armed with the facts about actions being taken to stop the spread of the virus.
In fact, the White House and the National Security Council had to take to Twitter on Sunday evening and deliver a statement saying the rumors of a nationwide quarantine, which would be based on the Stafford Act, being enforced are not true.
Add this to the fact that folks are losing their minds and buying up toilet paper like its worth more than gold, and you truly get a picture of the strange times we’re living in right now.
Here’s more on this from Gateway Pundit:
“Text message rumors of a national #quarantine are FAKE. There is no national lockdown. @CDCgov has and will continue to post the latest guidance on #COVID19. #coronavirus”

The statement was almost immediately retweeted by Dan Scavino on his White House account.

The White House also refuted the rumors on Sunday night.
Here are some other folks giving their take on the Stafford Act nonsense:
Someone sent me that Stafford Act hoax yesterday and I immediately saw it was fake
Whoever started this disinfo spread it so far the @WHNSC even had to slap it down

I have now received this text message from six friends. One said a military “insider” sent it to them. Y’all gotta cut this out. Stafford Act was declared Friday. It’s a tool to coordinate aid. Does not suspend habeas. Military not dropping in to quarantine you: pic.twitter.com/YcQ1ZwF3ux

These rumors have largely been spreading online. Here’s an example:
This is Chris Browns Instagram story.
The person featured says her family works for the Pentagon, who advised her that the US Government is planning to announce a 1 week quarantine for the entire country.

Listen, folks. We need to start using a little common sense and applying some non-emotional, good old fashioned, Mr. Spock style logic to this situation. A national quarantine is not a very likely scenario. However, local quarantines decided upon by local governments and/or containment zones of some type are definitely going to happen depending on how bad the outbreak is in a given area.
On top of that, we’re going to see shutdowns of schools, restaurants, businesses, and entertainment complexes as a means of attempting to “flatten the curve” and keep this thing from wreaking havoc on our populatiion the way it has in Italy. This is mostly being done to prevent hospitals and medical workers from being overwhelmed.
This illness is pretty serious business. No, it’s not a world ending plague. Those who are freaking out as if it were need to take a breather and calm down. However, it puts a lot of older folks and individuals with compromised immune systems at serious risk for complications. While the vast majority of folks who get the illness will recover, they could become carriers who expose the coronavirus to people who are in the categories mentioned above. That is what is leading to deaths.
We want to stop the spread as quickly as possible, and that’s what a lot of local government are working on.

There was basically a national quarantine, it was supposed to last two weeks! But Trump the Traitor is still failing to protect Americans, so it keeps spreading!
Merchants of Chaos are spreading rumors. MSM is guilty, but Leftist surrogates wish to nullify the effective advice and actions of Trump’s Team, CDC, NIH, and other experts to save more lives and preserve our medical facilities from an overwhelming tsunami.
Very Well Said!!
Stop hoarding, buy your normal
weeks food. Allow the shelves
to be restocked as usual and
there will be enough for everyone
without a panic situation. Do not
clear the shelves. You are forcing
some people to go without food
because of your greed!
