White House And NSC Address Rumors Of National Quarantine Over Coronavirus; Here’s What They Had To Say

(Tea Party PAC) – With what seems like a bit of mass hysteria sweeping the country thanks to the potentially lethal Wuhan coronavirus spreading across the globe, the rumor mill has been going full blast, prompting elected officials at all levels of government to run interference and ensure folks are armed with the facts about actions being taken to stop the spread of the virus.

In fact, the White House and the National Security Council had to take to Twitter on Sunday evening and deliver a statement saying the rumors of a nationwide quarantine, which would be based on the Stafford Act, being enforced are not true.

Add this to the fact that folks are losing their minds and buying up toilet paper like its worth more than gold, and you truly get a picture of the strange times we’re living in right now.

Here’s more on this from Gateway Pundit:

“Text message rumors of a national #quarantine are FAKE. There is no national lockdown. @CDCgov has and will continue to post the latest guidance on #COVID19. #coronavirus”

The statement was almost immediately retweeted by Dan Scavino on his White House account.

The White House also refuted the rumors on Sunday night.

Here are some other folks giving their take on the Stafford Act nonsense:

These rumors have largely been spreading online. Here’s an example:

Listen, folks. We need to start using a little common sense and applying some non-emotional, good old fashioned, Mr. Spock style logic to this situation. A national quarantine is not a very likely scenario. However, local quarantines decided upon by local governments and/or containment zones of some type are definitely going to happen depending on how bad the outbreak is in a given area.

On top of that, we’re going to see shutdowns of schools, restaurants, businesses, and entertainment complexes as a means of attempting to “flatten the curve” and keep this thing from wreaking havoc on our populatiion the way it has in Italy. This is mostly being done to prevent hospitals and medical workers from being overwhelmed.

This illness is pretty serious business. No, it’s not a world ending plague. Those who are freaking out as if it were need to take a breather and calm down. However, it puts a lot of older folks and individuals with compromised immune systems at serious risk for complications. While the vast majority of folks who get the illness will recover, they could become carriers who expose the coronavirus to people who are in the categories mentioned above. That is what is leading to deaths.

We want to stop the spread as quickly as possible, and that’s what a lot of local government are working on.

  1. There was basically a national quarantine, it was supposed to last two weeks! But Trump the Traitor is still failing to protect Americans, so it keeps spreading!

  2. Merchants of Chaos are spreading rumors. MSM is guilty, but Leftist surrogates wish to nullify the effective advice and actions of Trump’s Team, CDC, NIH, and other experts to save more lives and preserve our medical facilities from an overwhelming tsunami.

  3. How interesting: one fake news source said there would be a two-week quarantine shutting down the nation; another said it would be only a one-week quarantine. I would bet on the White House/NSC announced zero-week quarantine. Two weeks would drop the stock market [DJ] by 10,000; one-week would drop it by 5,000. I wonder how much a zero-week quarantine would drop it? And then with the two adjustment bills and the Fed dropping the Overnight Rate by another 1.0% and other fiscal fixes from the government, I wonder if it will gain 5,000 to 10,000 again, especially if the curve flattens soon. Jest reckonin’

  4. It the liberal leftist Socialist Fascist Communist Democrat and the allies in the MSM (fake news) and the Hollywood/ East Coast elites that is fanning the flames of panic and hysteria in order to win November. Don’t listen to any one but sound medical advice who ” like to say I am not a Doctor, but I play one “tell but use every day common sense

  5. Stop hoarding, buy your normal
    weeks food. Allow the shelves
to be restocked as usual and
there will be enough for everyone
without a panic situation. Do not
clear the shelves. You are forcing
some people to go without food
    because of your greed!
