(Tea Party PAC) – Late into the evening on Tuesday, the White House and the Senate finally reached a deal concerning a massive stimulus package to help bolster up the economy after it took a huge, devastating hit because of the coronavirus pandemic.
This sucker is over two trillion dollars. Yes, you read that correctly. No, you don’t need glasses, nor did your eyes go crossed. That’s “trillion.” You know, with a “t.”
The stimulus package deal contains provisions for employees, businesses, and funding for hospitals.
Here’s more from Gateway Pundit:
“Ladies and gentleman, we are done,” White House legislative affairs director Eric Ueland announced as he left the office of Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., near midnight. “We have a deal.”
Ueland added that “much of the work on bill text has been completed and I’m hopeful over the next few hours we’ll finish what’s left and we will circulate it early in the morning.” Regarding any outstanding issues, he said “we have either clear, explicit legislative text, reflecting all parties, or we know exactly where we’re going to land without a legislative text, as we continue to finish.”
Fox News reports that the unprecedented package will give direct payments to most Americans, expand unemployment benefits and provide a $367 billion program for small businesses to keep making payroll while workers are forced to stay home.
The bill had been repeatedly delayed as Democrats sought to insert funding for their pet causes.
“This bill is $2 trillion. There’s a ton of money in this bill for people who need it, but what we’re doing now is, every special-interest group in town is trying to get a little bit more,” Senator Lindsey Graham said late Tuesday evening.
I've been called by two good friends on the Democratic side wanting more money.

The full text of the bill will be available some time on Wednesday.
It’s really difficult to even imagine what two trillion dollars actually looks like, let alone the fact that our nation is spending that much due to this virus outbreak. The world really got taken by surprise by all of this and it’s costing the whole globe. Perhaps we ought to spend a significant portion of our time and effort, once this is over, making sure we are fully prepared for this kind of situation in the future.
Regardless, this is a good start to keeping the economy from collapsing, which, honestly, is probably a bigger threat to the nation than the virus itself, and that’s not to belittle this horrific illness. In fact, that’s a testimony to how awful this whole thing really is. A virus has nearly destroyed our economy in a matter of weeks. It’s terrifying.
While it certainly sucks to see this staggering amount of taxpayer dollars be spent, this relief is desperately needed at the moment, so hopefully it wil help ease the burden on folks. Here’s to praying this situation and all of the hassles and damage done by it will soon be repaired and our nation healed.
