(Tea Party PAC) – Apparently, for some, not counting illegal votes in a fair election is a really hard concept. It appears that those who are in charge of running things in several states do not fully understand the importance of counting legal votes only. In Pennsylvania, dead people can vote and there isn’t any need for residents to get their ballot in by Election Day for it to be counted. In Georgia, there were “glitches” and a complete failure to be transparent and honest.
These issues need to be addressed and formal action taken to hold those responsible for the election process accountable. In Georgia, Republican Senators Kelly Loeffler and David Perdue have officially called for the resignation of GA Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger (pictured at top), who is a Republican.
Election integrity should be a nonpartisan issue and there is no reason why Republicans should not hold other Republicans accountable when it has become apparent there was mishandling or corruption.
Raffensperger, however, doesn’t agree. He seems to think that he did a great job handling Georgia’s election.
The two Republicans, who will both likely be competing in runoff elections in January, issued a joint statement calling for his resignation.
“The management of Georgia elections has become an embarrassment for our state,” the senators said in their statement. “Georgians are outraged, and rightly so. We have been clear from the beginning: every legal vote cast should be counted. Any illegal vote must not. And there must be transparency and uniformity in the counting process.” “We believe when there are failures, they need to be called out — even when it’s in your own party,” the senators noted. “There have been too many failures in Georgia elections this year and the most recent election has shined a national light on the problems. While blame certainly lies elsewhere as well, the buck ultimately stops with the Secretary of State. The mismanagement and lack of transparency from the Secretary of State is unacceptable. Honest elections are paramount to the foundation of our democracy. The Secretary of State has failed to deliver honest and transparent elections. He has failed the people of Georgia, and he should step down immediately.”

Raffensperger declared in his own statement that he will not resign from his position that he says the “voters” put him in.
“The voters of Georgia hired me, and the voters will be the one to fire me,” Raffensperger said.
“My job is to follow Georgia law and see to it that all legal votes, and no illegal votes, are counted properly and accurately,” he noted. “As Secretary of State, that is my duty, and I will continue to do my duty. As a Republican, I am concerned about Republicans keeping the U.S. Senate. I recommend that Senators Loeffler and Perdue start focusing on that.”

It sounds like the Senators are concerned about winning their elections and maintaining control in the Senate and that’s why they’re attempting to hold Raffensperger accountable for dropping the ball. Georgia voters deserve to have confidence in their elections and that will most definitely be an important issue for them come time to vote in runoff elections.
