Womp-Womp: Even Trump-Hating Romney Thinks Trump Will Win In 2020…But That’s Not All!

(Tea Party PAC) – On Thursday, famously anti-Trump Senator Mitt Romney (R-UT) confirmed that he has no intention of mounting a primary challenge to President Donald Trump, also saying that the president will be the GOP nominee and likely win re-election in 2020.

Romney made the comments at a roundtable discussing on anti-vaping policy at Intermountain Primary Children’s Hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah.

So far, three Republicans have stepped up to challenge Trump for the 2020 nomination: former Massachusetts Gov. Bill Weld, former Rep. Mark Sanford (R-SC), and former Rep. Joe Walsh (R-IL), and there had been some speculation that Romney would throw his hat in the ring.

“I’m not planning on endorsing in the presidential race,” Romney, the 2012 GOP nominee for the White House, told CNN. “At this stage, I’m not planning on endorsing in the primary or in the general.”

When he was asked if he has made up his mind about putting his support behind the House Democrats’ impeachment inquiry against the president, Romney replied “No.”

“I would have to look at the evidence as it’s presented,” he explained.

“I’ll keep an open mind until and unless there is some kind of decision reached by the House,” he added. “It’s a purposeful effort on my part to stay unbiased and to see the evidence as it’s brought forward.”

Earlier this month, Romney referred to recently resurrected allegations of wrongdoing on the part of former Vice President Joe Biden and his son, Hunter Biden, in their business dealings in China and Ukraine as “wrong and appalling.”

This attracted the harsh criticism of the president in response, who called him a “pompous ass” and “so bad” for the Republicans.

“Mitt Romney never knew how to win. He is a pompous “ass” who has been fighting me from the beginning, except when he begged me for my endorsement for his Senate run (I gave it to him), and when he begged me to be Secretary of State (I didn’t give it to him). He is so bad for R’s!” the president wrote on Twitter Saturday.

In a follow-up tweet, POTUS called for Romney to be impeached.

“I’m hearing that the Great People of Utah are considering their vote for their Pompous Senator, Mitt Romney, to be a big mistake. I agree! He is a fool who is playing right into the hands of the Do Nothing Democrats!”

“#IMPEACHMITTROMNEY,” he wrote.

In a Political Trends survey conducted in July, Romney was found to have the highest disapproval rating among his state’s congressional delegation.
