(PCC)You won’t believe this one! Critics have labeled Vice President Kamala Harris’ response to the victims of devastating Southern California wildfires as a “word salad,” which shocked and frightened the already traumatized fire victims.
As of Wednesday, over 88,000 Californians remain under evacuation orders, primarily in the Los Angeles area, after wildfires scorched more than 40,000 acres and claimed at least 25 lives. The ongoing crisis has left many struggling with the loss of homes, loved ones, and a sense of total and complete loss. Millions of homes are without power and clean water with no ETA in sight!
Guess who takes the microphone and adds words of comfort: Harris, in her feeble attempt to console fire victims, blabbers out a word salad not even quantum computers can unravel!
“Lots of people who still have a home who are under evacuation order, I know you want to get back home, but this is a time to be patient,” Harris said. “It’s critically important that, to the extent you can find anything that gives you an ability to be patient in this extremely dangerous and unprecedented crisis, that you do.”
WTF? Did she just told burned out homeless families who lost everything including family members burned alive to ‘Be Patient’? Not only that but is she speaking to people who have a home that wants to get back home, or do whatever gives you the ability to be patient? Does this mean if someone needs extra drugs, alcohol or some substance it’s ok to ‘get the hit’ to help be patient?
The vice president’s comments quickly became fodder for online mockery, with detractors pointing out the disjointed nature of her advice. Critics accused her of failing to provide substantive support or demonstrate genuine empathy for the victims’ suffering. Some have suggested Harris’s remarks reflect a broader failure of leadership and a lack of preparedness to address such crises effectively.
