JUST IN: Mass Shooting Suspect Was Let Out Of Jail Early

(Tea Party PAC) – Over the weekend, there was a mass shooting in Sacramento, California, that left six innocent people dead and twelve others injured. You may or may not have heard about this. It hasn’t been plastered all over the news like most mass shootings are because it doesn’t quite fit the right mold.

The suspected shooters in this mass shooting event are black and not only that, one of them was released from jail early. 27-year-old Smiley Martin and his brother Dandrae Martin were both arrested Tuesday in connection with the incident.

Smiley (mugshot here) has a rap sheet dating back to 2013 and had been released from prison after serving only 4 years of a 10-year sentence for domestic violence and assault with great bodily injury.

Not only was the shooter black and killed other black people, something the mainstream media doesn’t like to discuss, but he was released early from prison. That sure doesn’t bode well for the left’s radical criminal justice reform efforts.

Smiley was taken to the hospital Sunday following the shootout, indicating that the firefight was likely gang-related.

The state, in response to a public records request, noted that Smiley’s past crimes have included “robbery, possession of a firearm and giving false information to police”, according to the Sacramento Bee.

The most shocking of his crimes detailed by the state was an incident involving Smiley’s abuse of his prostitute girlfriend. Documents explained, he “located her hiding in her bedroom closet and hit her repeatedly with a closed fist on the face, head, and body, causing visible injuries. He then dragged her out of the home by her hair to an awaiting car. After he put her in the car, he assaulted her with a belt.”

Send a Thankyou

It’s a wonder he was released early. The office of Sacramento County District Attorney Anne Marie Schubert wrote a letter last April telling the state that “Inmate Martin’s pattern of conduct” shows he “is an assaultive and non-compliant individual and has absolutely no regard for his victims who are left in the wake of numerous serious offenses.”

“He has no respect for others, for law enforcement or for the law,” the DA’s Office added. “If he is released early, he will continue to break the law.”

Despite the DA’s warning, the California Department of Corrections let him out six years early. The state attempted to justify this early release by saying that he had already served hundreds of days worth or pre-sentencing jail credits in days served related to other crimes.

“Prior to reaching a CDCR facility, Martin had already received 508 days of pre-sentencing credits, and received a variety of additional post-sentencing credits,” the spokesperson wrote in an email. “He was released to Sacramento County probation in February 2022.”

Clearly, Smiley should not have been released even so much as a day early.

The DA said that no one has been charged with murder or manslaughter in regards to the Sunday shooting and that “The investigation is highly complex involving many witnesses, videos of numerous types and significant physical evidence. This is an ongoing investigation and we anticipate more arrests in this case.”

The Sacramento County coroner reports the women killed were Johntaya Alexander, 21; Melinda Davis, 57; and Yamile Martinez-Andrade, 21, while the three men killed were Sergio Harris, 38; Joshua Hoye-Lucchesi, 32; and De’vazia Turner, 29.

On top of everything else, Smiley was in possession of an illegal firearm which he was seen waving around during a Facebook live video (watch here) just before the Sunday shooting.
