JUST IN: Trucker Convoy Closes In On DC

(Tea Party PAC) – Last week, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau decided to invoke the nation’s Emergencies Act as a means of gaining enough political power to shut down an alliance of truck drivers and regular everyday folks who showed up at the capital of Ottawa to let their voices be heard on the issues of vaccine mandates and other restrictive COVID measures.

According to the Western Journal, after these protests shut down parts of the city and some of the crossings into the U.S. there was a combined effort from Trudeau, police, and financial institutions in the country to annihilate those participating in these efforts with extreme punishments designed to quell their desire to stand up for freedom.

However, while the Canadian Freedom Convoy seems to have been smashed, American truckers are soon to have their own “Ottawa moment.”

“The People’s Convoy, an American protest in the same vein as the one from freedom-loving Canucks, now has more than 1,000 truckers descending on Washington, D.C. in a route that stretches from coast to coast,” the report said.

“Set to leave from Adelanto, Calif., the convoy will arrive in the D.C. area on March 5. Unfortunately, these Americans looking to speak their mind will be met with military personnel and law enforcement. Hundreds of D.C. National Guard troops have been authorized to meet the convoy, with hundreds more being drawn from forces outside of the city,” it continued.

“The D.C. Metropolitan Police Department and U.S. Capitol police will also be out in full force to control traffic and protesters. To set the dramatic scene even more, the U.S. Capitol Building is also becoming unrecognizable as the seat of an open and free government, instead looking more like a fortress as security barriers go up,” the report added.

With the large number of trucks and vehicles on their way to D.C., however, it’s clear that leadership in the city will soon find themselves looking at city roads chock full of protesters.

If these truckers and those who have allied themselves with them refuse to leave the capitol, there’s no doubt the person in Biden’s administration tasked with overseeing the official response to the effort might feel pressured to take some form of action.

Which brings up an important question. Just how far is Biden willing to go in order to prevent these protesters from airing their grievances.

“Trudeau didn’t march troops in to crack skulls, although his forces seem to be responsible for a gross portion of the injuries being reported. The prime minister’s aggressive attitude toward his own critics empowered those as far down the power ladder as code enforcement officers to threaten truckers, their children and their pets,” the report revealed.

And as you might have already guessed, the leadership in Canada aren’t yet ready to surrender the temporary power they have seized all in the name of safety and security.

“According to Al Jazeera, Ottawa residents are still dealing with a heavy police presence that isn’t going away quickly enough. Fences and police patrols still dominate parts of the city, while Trudeau will hold ’emergency’ powers until mid-March,” WJ reported.

Does any of that sound familiar?

It should.

It’s exactly what the elites in D.C. did for months after the Capitol riots at the start of 2021, leaving fences and military personnel hanging around to supposedly provide security.

According to a report from WND, Trudeau announced on Wednesday that the Emergencies Act would no longer be in use.

“The situation is no longer an emergency, therefore the federal government will be ending the use of the Emergencies Act,” Trudeau went on to tell reporters during a press conference. “We are confident that existing laws and bylaws are sufficient.”

However, as always, there’s a big “but” here.

“While Trudeau rescinded the Emergencies Act, the Canadian prime minister left open the possibility that authorities may again crack down on protesters, promising to surveil anti-mandate activities,” WND’s report said.

“Let’s be very clear: the threat continues. We do see, whether it’s social media activity or people who continue to be focused on protesting, and perhaps illegally protesting, that we need to be monitoring,” he added.

It’s far from over, folks. Once these power hungry types have whetted their appetites, they are very reluctant to surrender it back to the people. Let’s hope that doesn’t happen here.
