(Tea Party PAC) – One of the big sticking points for Republicans in the Senate concerning Supreme Court nominee Ketanji Brown Jackson is her record of taking it easy on child porn offenders and other registered sex criminals during her time as a judge, handing out lighter than recommended sentences for these deplorable crimes.
Well, according to a new report from Infowars, a registered sex offender who Jackson gave a three month prison sentence to has come out and thanked the judge for giving him such a lenient sentence.
Folks, this is disgusting on every level and is reason enough that this woman is not qualified to sit on the bench of the highest court in the country.
Back in 2013, Jackson handed out a sentence of three months in prison to then-19-year-old Wesley Hawkins, which also included another three months of home confinement, and then six years of supervision after he was convicted of possessing child pornography featuring 8 to 12-year-old boys engaged in sex acts.
Hawkins was found to be in possession of a total of 17 videos and 16 images of child porn. In all honesty, a man like this should never be allowed outside of a prison. Or, better yet, perhaps even stiffer penalties of a more permanent variety should be sought for offenders like this. Just a thought to ponder.
“Federal sentencing guidelines called for Hawkins to receive eight to ten years in prison, but prosecutors took into account his lack of criminal history and requested two years in prison. Hawkins’ defense team requested a single day in jail and five years of supervision,” the report said.
“Following his sentence, in 2019, Hawkins was ordered by Jackson to complete his supervised release at a halfway house, according to the Washington Post, because he had been searching ‘sexually arousing, non-pornographic material and images of males 13 to 16-years-old’ and was highly likely to re-offend,” Infowars reported.
During an interview with the Post, Hawkins actually seemed to thank Jackson for the lenient sentence she gave him and then acknowledged that he got less prison time than a lot of other sex offenders who were convicted of possessing child pornography.
“Perhaps most surprising, Hawkins said, was that he found himself feeling sympathy for the judge he had once been angry with for sending him to prison. [Emphasis added],” the Post report stated.
“I wasn’t very happy that she gave me three months, though after reflection when I was in jail, I was hearing from other people who said it was their first time arrested and they got five years, six years,” Hawkins said.
“I feel that she chose to take into consideration the fact that I was just getting started [in life] and she knew this was going to hold me back for years to come regardless,” he continued, “so she didn’t really want to add on to that.”
Do we really want someone to sit on the bench of the Supreme Court who has a history of more or less standing up for some of the most vile criminals in our society? How can we as a nation preserve our liberties and freedoms for children, our most valuable and vulnerable citizens, if we don’t punish the wicked who seek to destroy their innocence and use that punishment as a deterrent for other potential offenders?
The simple answer is, we can’t.

I’ve been researching the record of Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson, reading her opinions, articles, interviews & speeches. I’ve noticed an alarming pattern when it comes to Judge Jackson’s treatment of sex offenders, especially those preying on children

As far back as her time in law school, Judge Jackson has questioned making convicts register as sex offenders – saying it leads to “stigmatization and ostracism.” She’s suggested public policy is driven by a “climate of fear, hatred & revenge” against sex offenders pic.twitter.com/2QUcPOnWPR

Judge Jackson has said that some people who possess child porn “are in this for either the collection, or the people who are loners and find status in their participation in the community.” What community would that be? The community of child exploiters? pic.twitter.com/JDxqf9Q1AH
