(PCC)Growing up, I would always tune in to learn about world events and listen to thoughtful commentary, but today I have tuned out! What about you?
Once upon a time, the media really did matter. It wasn’t just a source of information—it was a strength, a repository of knowledge and discernment. Millions used to believe that if the media claimed something to be true, then it was undoubtedly true!
Remember that moment when your parents said, “I saw it on the news!” It was as if G*d himself was speaking divine words, making a personal appearance on news broadcasts. It appears ‘The Divine’ has left the Legacy Media to its own devices and have exited their realm of darkness.
Their power has evaporated, leaving its rhetoric hollow and devoid of value. The tragedy lies in the fact that the legacy media bears sole responsibility for its own self-induced misery at the highest level.
During the first term of Donald Trump’s presidency, networks like CNN and publications like The Washington Post thrived. Not because people merely wanted the news, but because they believed media coverage was truthful and dependable, they thrived. The American public perceived news outlets as vigilant and sometimes even impeccable.
Once the media realized its ability to impact election results, shape Wall Street, and alter the lives of ordinary Americans, it became enamored with power, spiraling into a state of insanity and reveling in its unbridled authority. The media conveniently forgot that absolute power corrupts absolutely!
The media challenged Trump, triggered investigations, contributed to high-profile firings, and ultimately helped steer public opinion against him. The media wielded a deadly influence, capable of swaying the world and controlling minds.
But today, those same institutions are shadows of their former selves. CNN, which once prided itself on respectable reporting, is now sidelining its most recognizable journalists. CNN is relegating Jim Acosta, a persistent critic of Trump, to a midnight time slot. The Washington Post, once known for its bold “Democracy Dies in Darkness” tagline, is now pitching a new, neutered slogan: “Riveting Storytelling for All of America.”
Let that sink in. Legacy media isn’t dying because of social media, streaming platforms, or the rise of independent voices. The reason for its demise is its capitulation to the corrupt forces of power, lust, and greed. It willingly and happily handed over its common sense and its power of persuasion to the lord of deceit. They forfeited their divine privilege of being the purveyor of truth and have surrendered to the path yielding to darkness and untruths. It has become nothing more than a hollowed-out institution desperately clinging to relevance.
The media has shattered public confidence, and its audiences have abandoned the crumbling remains of a once-great media complex.
The people of America and the world simply want to hear current events and commentaries that are not laced with painful, biased rhetoric but rather the facts and opposing opinions.
The big question is, where will the public go?
Podcasts, YouTube news outlets, and organic grassroots information outlets are widely available and are flourishing. Millions tune into Joe Rogan—not because he’s an intellectual heavyweight, but because he understands power. Shows on IHeartRadio, websites, and newscasters like Bill O’Reilly have an audience reaching the international landscape in the tens of millions.
In the meantime, Democrats expended $1.5 billion on establishment media advertisements that yielded minimal impact. The people have thoroughly dismantled the legacy media, relegating it to the status of stale leftovers and yesterday’s lunch specials.
The truth is that we cannot save legacy media. It won’t be CNN, The Washington Post, or The New York Times that reinvigorates political discourse. Their time has expired. The next powerhouse won’t come from the institutions that have sold out to corporate interests. It’ll come from somewhere new—someone new—and it will be grassroots, homespun, and real citizens broadcasting with all their flaws the truth, sending powerful new broadcasts from their websites and garages!
Final Word: Media power doesn’t disappear—it flows to those who respect its power and beauty and those few who fulfill their divine privilege as the purveyors of truth.
Will you be one of them?
